The Laurels, a grade II listed building, comprises an impressive and magnificent two storey Georgian mansion set in wooded ground of approximately 4.5 acre with mezzanine level and converted basement, constructed during the mid-18th Century. It has been carefully converted and extended to form a welcoming home. The accommodation is elegant and stylish with many attractive period features including extensive moulded plasterwork. The Laurels retains much of its original character with four substantial columns to the front elevation and other ornate architectural feature such as detail carved stonework to the gutters.

The Laurels is furnished to a high standard throughout, and has been discerningly laid out providing light and spacious accommodation. It offers a choice of spacious lounge areas where residents can meet and chat, or find peace to read or play cards, meals are served in the home’s elegant dining rooms. All the bedrooms are bright and airy and attractively decorated. There are a number of twin rooms for couples or those who wish to share.

To all the staff, many thanks for your care & support over the past few years during ‘M’s’ stay with you. It gave us comfort as her family to know she was happy here, enjoying a laugh, giving nicknames and receiving the best possible care.

To all the wonderful staff.

Thank you so much for caring for my brother ‘P’ in his final weeks of life. He wasn’t the casual of patients to care for as you all discovered. Being so let away was difficult, but you were all so helpful when telephoned it didn’t matter what time it was, I was updates in a most considerate manner. Being a nurse myself it was easy for me to recognize the caring & compassion. All the staff I had contact with, my brother received care from performed above & beyond. I & my family were so grateful and relieved to know that ‘P’ was in such good hands.

May your Gods go with you
